History: What happened on May 31st?
2021 – Against the background of a massive decline in the birth rate and the rapid aging of society, the Chinese Communist Party decides to relax the birth control policy and in future allows couples to have three children.
2020 – Aussie-British mining company Rio Tinto admits to blowing up aboriginal places of worship in Western Australia’s Jukaan Gorge. The company wanted to mine iron ore deposits there. Rio Tinto boss resigns in mid-September after protests
2017 – At least 150 people are killed in a devastating bomb attack in the immediate vicinity of the German embassy in the Afghan capital Kabul.
