Clear Haaland message from the RBK hero: – I can challenge anyone

Back in Trondheim, Ole Sæter takes time for a few minutes with TV 2 before he goes on holiday. With two goals against Vålerenga on Sunday night, the hero status of the Trøndelag’s biggest favorite is on its way to growing into the sky.

– It’s cool, but I just have to try to look at it as mostly meat and nonsense, because if I am to start taking in all the impressions that come from playing in Rosenborg, I will probably be more tired of that bit there than I will be of playing matches. I try not to put so much into it, but it’s extremely cool in retrospect when you look back at what people actually sacrifice, say and bet and stuff. It’s very stylish, laughs Sæter.

On Trøndelag’s Twitter accounts, it is mostly the 26-year-old’s name that is repeated. In record time, he has received both hero status at Lerkendal and his own song from Kjernen. On Sunday night, the striker started the repayment when he netted twice in RBK’s 4-0 victory against Vålerenga.

– I am very happy with it and that I get to show what I have on board. I have been high and low both with my mouth and with my legs, so it’s nice to show that it’s not just the mouth that can talk and that there is a little hold in it, he smiles.

– An “idiot”

The rapper from Trøndelag is not afraid to say what he thinks, which is probably one of the reasons for his position among RBK supporters. The desire to deliver for Rosenborg is greater than anything else for Sunday’s two-goal scorer.

– It means extremely much. There is so much history in this club and so much behind it. This has followed me throughout my childhood and it is my team, in a way. It is a dream to be able to give something back to all those who come to Oslo to support us. I’m in a way one of them and it’s sick cool that I can do it. It is not a matter of course that just to play here, you have to do that. It is something I have trained extremely hard for and something that means extremely much. There is a lot behind this, explains Sæter.

And with two goals in his first Elite Series match from the start this season, his self-confidence will hardly be any less for the striker.

– It’s like they said, I’m an idiot and an act. I have a lot I want to show off, and sometimes it comes in all sorts of forms. Yesterday was positive. I will not rule out that it is negative sometimes as well, but I must try to balance it at a high level, that is what is difficult. But that I will be an idiot and a deed forever, I can guarantee, he says.

– If you continue to start matches in Rosenborg, how good will you be?

– He-he, no, I will try to do my best every single day. How good I can be … there I think there is nothing that can stop me. I think I can be as good as no one has been, but then of course I have to keep doing it here every single day. That is where the challenge comes from.

– So if you continue to start matches, can you, for example, challenge Haaland for the national team place?

– I can challenge anyone, I would say. But he is still a few steps ahead of me, says Sæter with a sly smile on his face.

Holidays with a good feeling

After the victory in the capital, Sæter and the rest of the Rosenborg team go on a week’s holiday. The time for some free time could hardly have been better.

– First and foremost, I think it is very important for the environment, that they see that we actually can. Then it is also a confirmation for us inwardly, that the path we have staked out is the right one. It was very fun and then it will be exciting to see if we can keep it up, says Erlend Dahl Reitan.

Initially, he has been one of Kjetil Rekdal’s most trusted men. Now the right-back thinks things are about to loosen up in Trondheim.

– Yes. I think we understand it very well on paper, and then there have been some games where we got it out and some games where we did not get it out at all. Yesterday we got out a lot. To sum up, it has been a high top level and a low bottom level, really. Then I hope that we manage to stabilize close to our top level. Then we will be difficult to stop, says Reitan and gets support from Sæter:

– The start of the season has been a bit up and down. These are matches you should have taken three points in and matches you have been lucky in. In a way, we must try to balance ourselves at a high level. If we manage to recreate what we did yesterday every single day, then we will take extremely many steps. That is what we are trying to focus on now. The feeling we are entering the holiday with now is very good and if we beat Lillestrøm now and win that hanging match, then suddenly there are only four points. Then there is not much left. It’s a lot of fun, he says.

Helland plug

Nine games into the season, Rosenborg is in 6th place, ten points behind league leader Lillestrøm who has played one game more. After the holiday, the league leader is waiting for Åråsen.

– It will be very exciting. We have something to revenge from last year, there were two bad experiences against Lillestrøm. I observe that Pål has been hiding for a few weeks now, so he will probably come on the 19th, laughs Reitan.

– Do you think he’s nervous?

– No, the hill answers in cash, with a big smile on his face.

Before that time, a few days off await anyway. There, Reitan will take his family and car with him to try to find the good weather. For Sæter, however, the plan is a little different.

– Now it’s Tingvoll, Tingvoll cheese, kraftkar and whatnot. It will be an extremely delicious holiday. Then the rest of the boys can enjoy themselves in Cannes, Nice and Tuscany, then I will enjoy myself at Tingvoll.

– You can not afford anything else yet, right?

No, I can not afford that. I still stay at ground level, Sæter chuckles.
