JAKARTA – Age Sun estimated to be 5 billion years, its diameter alone is more than 1.33 billion kilometers, where the circumference of the circle is 325 times larger than that of Earth.
The weight of the Sun, reaching 332,000 times that of Earth, the temperature in the center reaches 20 million degrees Celsius, while on the surface it is about 6,000 degrees Celsius.
Summarized from the Book of Science in the Koran, Dr. Nadiah Thayyarah, mentioned that the sun has flames sticking out from its surface.
The fire, reaching a height of 500 thousand kilometers and continuously spewing energy of approximately 168,400 horsepower (horse power) per square meter.
The sun is just a small star, not a big star. On the surface of the Sun, there are very powerful electric and magnetic storms.
The problem that baffles scientists is the fact that the Sun has been emitting the same heat energy for millions of years.
On that basis, there is no doubt that the combustion process that occurs in the body of the Sun is not as human imagined.
Some scientists argue, meteorites and meteors that fall on the surface of the Sun replace the sun’s heat lost due to the irradiation process.
Then, the process of reproducing the Sun’s energy is a change from the abundant hydrogen gas in its body, as well as from the bodies of other stars into helium gas.
It, occurs through a series of complex nuclear reactions and produces enormous and unimaginable energy.
In the book Tafsir Ilmi, Benefits of Heavenly Objects in the perspective of the Qur’an and Science, Lajnah Pentashihan Mushaf Qur’an, the Research and Development Agency and Training of the Ministry of Religion of the Republic of Indonesia, with the Indonesian Institute of Sciences (LIPI), explains about the Sun as an energy source.
The energy that is directed towards the Earth travels a distance of 150 million kilometers. The heat that radiates from it is enjoyed by humans and other creatures on Earth in their lives.
In addition, the heat can also be used to warm the Earth’s biosphere and play a role in the photosynthesis process of all types of plants.
One of the verses of the Qur’an reveals about the phenomena on the body of the Sun:
اِنَّ رَبَّكُمُ اللّٰهُ الَّذِيْ خَلَقَ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالْاَرْضَ فِيْ سِتَّةِ اَيَّامٍ ثُمَّ اسْتَوٰى عَلَى الْعَرْشِۗ يُغْشِى الَّيْلَ النَّهَارَ يَطْلُبُهٗ حَثِيْثًاۙ وَّالشَّمْسَ وَالْقَمَرَ وَالنُّجُوْمَ مُسَخَّرٰتٍۢ بِاَمْرِهٖٓ ۙاَلَا لَهُ الْخَلْقُ وَالْاَمْرُۗ تَبٰرَكَ اللّٰهُ رَبُّ الْعٰلَمِيْنَ
“Verily your Lord is Allah Who created the heavens and the earth in six periods, then He established Himself on the Throne. He covered the night to the day which followed it swiftly, and (He also created) the sun and the moon and the stars (respectively -each) submit to His command. Remember, creating and ruling is only the right of Allah. Glory be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, “(Surah Al-A’raf Verse 54).
