Let’s start with public transport. If you want to travel tomorrow by train, tram, bus or metro, it is better to take precautions because the offer will be much less than on a normal Tuesday.
Train traffic will be severely disrupted from 10 p.m. tonight until tomorrow evening. In order to limit the nuisance as much as possible, the NMBS does have a alternative train service elaborated:
- Only one in three IC trains will run between major cities,
- in the suburban and rural areas, only one in five suburban S and L trains will run,
- and during the morning and evening rush hours, most P trains simply won’t run.
In Wallonia, in the provinces of Liège, Luxembourg and Namur, there will be no trains at all. As a result, the IC trains crossing these provinces will be limited. For example, the IC train Oostende-Eupen will only run between Ostend and Leuven.
Due to the much smaller train offer, the NMBS advises travelers to prepare their train journey well: via the journey planner in the NMBS app or nmbs.be.
