More than 80 cellists from all over Latvia will perform together with the trio “Melo-M” on the Grand Stage of Mežaparks

Riga, May 30, LETA. “Melo-M mega orchestra” will perform at the concert on Mežaparks Grand Stage on July 16, Kārlis Auzāns, the representative of the event organizers, informed LETA.

He points out that more than 80 cellists from all over Latvia, representing different generations of musicians, will perform in the orchestra together with the trio “Melo-M”. Percussionists Miķelis Vīte and Mārtiņš Miļevskis will also perform at the concert.

“Melo-M Mega Orchestra” will perform popular compositions, including compositions by Latvian composers Mārtiņš Brauns, Imants Kalniņš and Jānis Lūsēns. There will also be music from the repertoire of “Pink Floyd”, “Coldplay”, “The Beatles”, Marilyn Menson, “Mumford and Sons”. Auzana’s composition “Together We Can”, created especially for this orchestra, will premiere in the concert.

“Melo-M mega orchestra” is a project that was initiated by “Melo-M” musician Auzāns in 2015, bringing together more than 50 Latvian cellists of different generations. For the first time, the ensemble together with the cello trio “Melo-M” performed at the 2015 New Year’s Concerts at the Riga Congress Hall, the concerts continued in 2017 and 2019.
