ID.7 Touring is an electric station wagon that will replace one of Wolfsburg’s most popular Volkswagen Passat models in 2023.
The future is electric – Volkswagen has no doubt about it, so a billion euros is being invested in the Emden plant, which has also produced the Passat for decades, to transform production into an electric drive.
The plant will also start production of the Passat successor ID.7 Touring in the coming years. It is now known that this is exactly the name for the electric Passat that was approved by the patent office last week, but the concept ID will look at what it will look like and what it will be able to do. Space Vizion, which was demonstrated in 2019.
ID. The Space Vizion was equipped with one 205 kW / 279 hp electric motor at the rear axle. There is also an all-wheel drive version with an additional 75 kW / 102 hp front engine and a total system power of 340 hp. At 100 km / h, this option can be reached in 5.4 seconds, the top speed was promised at 180 km / h, and the 82 kWh battery provided up to 590 km on a single charge. It takes half an hour to charge up to 80 percent at a 150 kW unit.
The most important information in the cabin was provided by a small display instead of a measuring unit, everything else, including navigation instructions, is entrusted to the projection display, and a 15.6-inch touch screen is provided for multimedia functions.
