If the West does not give the Ukrainians long-range weapons, there is a risk that the Russians will win the war. This is what Kira Rudik, a member of the Ukrainian parliament Verkhovna Rada, says in an interview with The Guardian.
She tells the British major newspaper that she fears the war will be the new normal.
“One of our goals is that the world does not get used to the fact that there is war in Ukraine,” she told the newspaper.
– Need weapons
She emphasizes that the country now first and foremost needs weapons, more specifically long-range missiles.
– We know there is no peaceful solution to the conflict. We must win the war militarily, she says.

The Ukrainian politician is visiting the UK for a few days and is visiting British politicians. This is her first visit abroad since the war began.
Rudik leads the Ukrainian opposition party Holos.
Posed with rifle
The day after Russia invaded Ukraine, the Ukrainian politician posted a picture on Twitter posing with a Kalashnikov rifle.
– I am learning to use Kalashnikov, and preparing to carry weapons, she writes in the tweet.
To The Guardian, she says that she has not used the rifle when the Russians gave up the fight for Kyiv already after a week.
