Jakarta –
Phenomenon black moon is one of the events in astronomy that often occurs. This phenomenon reappeared in Indonesia at the end of May 2022.
In astronomical terms, a black moon has at least four different definitions. Anything?
Definition Black Moon
Quoting CNN Indonesia, researcher at the BRIN Space Research Center Andi Pangerang explained four definitions of a black moon, namely:
1. The black moon is the second new moon phase in the month of AD. This phenomenon occurs quite often because it takes place periodically with a period of 29 months.
2. The black moon is the third new moon phase in the astronomical season that contains four new moon phases. This phenomenon occurs every 33 months.
3. A black moon is a phenomenon where there is no new moon phase in February. This phenomenon occurs once every 19 years.
4. The black moon is the full moon phase in February. This phenomenon occurs once every 19 years.
“The black moon phenomenon can occur differently in each place because the time zone used is different in each place,” said Andi.
What Impact Will Happen?
According to Andi, this black moon phenomenon can cause rising sea tides. He also appealed to the public to be vigilant when going to sea.
“Like the new moon phase in general, the black moon can result in rising sea tides compared to other days when the Earth-Moon-Sun configuration is not in line when observed from above the poles. People are advised not to go to sea when the tide is high,” he explained.
The time for the sixth new moon phase in 2022 will occur on May 30 at 11.30.08 Universal Time (UT). With this time, it means that Eastern Europe, Indonesia and the Line Islands will only experience a black moon at the end of May 2022.
The Black Moon Phenomenon in Indonesia
The black moon phenomenon as the second new moon in the Christian month has previously occurred in Indonesia on October 31, 2016 and August 30, 2019.
Then, the black moon as the third new moon in the astronomical season containing four new moon phases had previously occurred in Indonesia on August 22, 2017 and August 19, 2020.
Meanwhile, a triple black moon (two black moons at the end of the Christian month and no new moon in February) has occurred in Indonesia in 2014.
Phenomenon black moon this will also happen again in the next few years. So keep watching this astronomical phenomenon, OK, detikers!
