Good mother, excellent worker, kind, helpful and enterprising. These are just some of the virtues that family and friends highlight of Celia María Meza Soto, the woman who was shot in the head by her ex-husband, Feberico Sayas Ospino, on Saturday afternoon, in a grocery store on Carrera 100 de San José de los Campanos.

Since 1:40 pm that day, Celia, who is 39 years old and was born in Magangué, has been in the ICU of the San Fernando Health Management clinic. Through social networks, her relatives invite prayer chains for her speedy recovery. “God will give you another chance friend, you are good, your children are waiting for you. I declare healing for you”, is one of the messages they leave on Facebook.
‘Chely’, as they call her, is another victim of domestic violence, intolerance and the obsession of Federico, 40 years old and a native of Tiquisio -south of Bolívar-, who never accepted that she decided to end the relationship of more than 10 years. Apparently, in March they separated.
They say that the couple had an argument in the apartment where Celia lives, which is on the second floor of the house. Then, the woman ran down crying and she entered the store -on the first floor- to prevent the man from hurting her, but he followed her and shot her in the head and then killed himself.
“Brave woman”
Celia is strong. The woman was hit in the temple; however, in the videos they recorded when she was helped by neighbors, she is still conscious; that is why her family trusts that she will get out of this situation.
The woman had three children with Federico and since she arrived in Cartagena she focused on giving them the best. ‘Chely’ studied pharmacy assistant at an institution in Pie del Cerro. He then worked in various institutions, including Fundación Caminos, where he managed to stand out and left very good friends. Apparently he also studied business administration.

She is an entrepreneur, that’s why she manages to sell different products. It was also learned that she has been attending a bakery that is right in front of the store for several months and that day she was getting ready to enter her shift.
There are no further details about her executioner, but it seems that months ago she had denounced him because he had threatened her. “She did not want to go back to him, she said that he was just her ex-husband and had no intention of being with a person who misbehaved with her,” said a neighbor and acquaintance of Celia.

They also say in the neighborhood that Federico threatened her with death and that he tried to hit her several times, all because he couldn’t bear the idea of seeing her go on with her life without him. In Tiquisio and Magangué, where they meet the couple, there is commotion.
report it
If you, whether a woman or a man, are being threatened or mistreated by your romantic partner, report it to the authorities in a timely manner. It is also recommended that you avoid conflict situations and, if necessary, approach or be in solitary and private places with that person.
There are many complaints because, apparently, the system does not work properly and the victims do not receive protection in a timely manner, as was the case with Celia, despite this, it is best to seek help and notify the Police.
