Darmstadt (dpa/lhe) – Europa League winner Eintracht-Frankfurt has to compete in the first round of the DFB Cup at 1. FC Magdeburg. This resulted in the draw on Sunday. Round one will be played from July 29th to August 1st. The Bundesliga soccer club and DFB Cup winner from 2018 was eliminated in the first round match at Waldhof Mannheim last season.
Second division Darmstadt 98 has to travel to FC Ingolstadt. The Hessians had failed in the first round against 1860 Munich on penalties in the previous season.
The Offenbacher Kickers have been drawn to the second division side Fortuna Düsseldorf as their first-round opponent. The regional league had qualified for the DFB Cup competition by beating TSV Steinbach Haiger (1-0) in the final of the Hessen Cup.
