Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia Sergei Lavrov stated that Russia intends to continue the war against Ukraine at least until it occupies the entire Luhansk and Donetsk regions. He said this in interview French TV channel TF1.

“The obvious task is to push the Ukrainian army and battalions outside the Donetsk and Luhansk regions. [Захват] Donetsk and Luhansk regions, recognized by the Russian Federation as independent states, is an absolute priority,” Lavrov said.
He also made it clear that Russia is not going to return the occupied territories of the Kherson and Zaporozhye regions to Ukraine.
“As for the rest of the territories where people live who do not want to break ties with Russia, the population of these regions will decide. I don’t think they will be happy to return to the power of a regime that has proven its complete Russophobic essence. The people themselves should decide,” he said. Lavrov.
