Pictures you haven’t seen for a long time: Albert (64) and Charlène (44) from Monaco hold hands and stroll around relaxed.
That’s what happened yesterday, Saturday, at the Monaco Formula 1 Grand Prix. The princess in particular seemed comparably relaxed and Albert, after several tense and distanced appearances by his wife, seemed to have taken a load off his chest.
The couple chatted with the Formula 1 drivers, had their picture taken and didn’t leave each other’s sides.
Diversionary tactics from marital problems and a million-dollar deal?
However, the appearance could also be a show to smile away the nasty rumors about a possible end of the marriage and a tough million-dollar contract.
The deal between Prince Albert and his wife is said to oblige the former swimmer to perform in this way, but give her more freedom outside the palace.
“My health is still very poor”
The princess should get around twelve million francs a year and be allowed to leave Monaco to move to Geneva. There it is only an hour’s flight from the Principality. And she can always go to the luxurious Les Alpes clinic on Lake Geneva, where she was treated for four months for exhaustion.

Charlène recently referred to her health. In an interview with the newspaper “Monaco-Matin” she said: “My health is still very poor and I don’t want to rush anything. The road was long, difficult and so painful. But now I’m a little more relaxed.” (grb)
