With six qualified (the four winners of the quarter-finals and the two play-offs between the losers), the doors of the French triplet petanque championship, on June 18 and 19, in Bergerac (Dordogne), were wide open for the Bourbonnais Philippe Suchaud and Christian Fazzino.
This Saturday, during the regional in Montluçon, in the Allier, the two champions did not fail. The player from Arlanc, associated with Antoine Cano and Dominique Usaï, passed without incident the hens and the 1/8th final before getting out of it narrowly in the quarter, 13 to 11, against the solid Suarez team from Vernaison.
“We knew we were dealing with a strong party, comments Philippe Suchaud. At 9 to 3, “Dom” scored a little less well. Fortunately, “Chato” (Cano, editor’s note) pulled out the plug when we were in trouble”.
For Christian Fazzino, the championship was more laborious. Alternating “the good and the less good”, the Montluçonnais, licensed in Bron, was not helped by Jean Feltain who often made one out of two in shooting.

Christian Fazzino was not radiant on his regional championships. Fortunately, his friend Marco Foyot ensured the point.
But as Jean-Marc Foyot was on a very good day, the Rhône players passed the 1/8th, 13 to 6, not without difficulty, before recovering from the hair of the beast during the quarter-final, dispatched 13 at 1 against a team from Haute-Savoie. “With Sparrow (Jean Feltain, N.D.L.R), it’s the second time we’ve played together. We have to get to know each other better, ”points out Christian Fazzino, very happy to return to the French championships.
The Auvergnats were particularly prominent during their regionals since the Doméroise team Laleuf, Delage, Pailheret did not go into detail by dominating their quarter-final 13 to 0 against a formation from the Loire. “We played very well and they very badly”, summarizes Olivier Delage who will participate in his fifteenth French championship.
Finally, the second team from Arlanc, composed of Zvonko Radnic, Steeven Chapeland and Richard Mondillon also qualified for the “France” by winning their quarter 13 to 5 against a team from Haute-Loire.
The qualified for the French championships.
