In order to give a new impetus to music training activity on the University of Magellan (UMAG), this week, assumed the new director of the Conservatory of Music. Its about musician and piano teacher, Javier Emilio Covacevich Perez (32), who, in addition to being a former student of the establishment, is also a teacher of the discipline, music theory and harmony from 2020 to date.
The young performer was trained as a pianist at the Music Institute of the Catholic University and is currently studying a Master of Arts, mentioning Music at the Faculty of Arts of the same campus.
“The challenges are, above all, on the part of the management area, where we will undoubtedly have to renew ourselves, strengthen the links between the staff and also with the community, that is, retake that position of being an important institution for musical development in Punta Arenas, which, during the pandemic, was quite weakened, ”emphasized the musician.
Covacevich made a invitation to the children and young people of Magallanes a get to know this austral musical training center which currently has an enrollment of 47 students and, since 1989, more than 300 male and female students have studied different instruments.
