The volleyball team from Allianz MTV Stuttgart want to bring the double to Stuttgart. But before the big triumph is the best-of-five series against SC Potsdam.
Allianz MTV Stuttgart has had a strong season so far: they won 21 of 22 games in the women’s volleyball league, won the DVV Cup and only lost in the final of the CEV Cup. The first game in the best-of-five series against SC Potsdam is scheduled for Tuesday evening at 6:30 p.m. The Stuttgart women have a clear goal: to win and ultimately bring home the double.
The way to the final
En route to the finals, they were as successful in the playoffs as they were in the points round. In the quarter-finals they beat Roten Raben Vilsbiburg 3-1 and 3-0, in the semi-finals against SSC Palmberg Schwerin Allianz MTV also had the upper hand with two 3-1 wins. With the victory in the semifinals, the second German championship title after 2019 is not far away. In the final series they now face a particularly tough opponent: SC Potsdam.

Only Potsdam could defeat Stuttgart this season
SC Potsdam finished the points round in second place and it is the only opponent that could defeat Stuttgart. Allianz MTV Stuttgart is in the final for the seventh time, while the women from Potsdam are in the final series for the very first time in the club’s history. Ex-Stuttgart coach Guillermo Naranjo Hernandez (2013 to 2017) has formed a now dangerous team. Laura Emonts as captain, Valeria Papa as a newcomer, Libera Aleksandra Jegdic – Potsdam’s team has versatile characters.
We have to be very clear. Potsdam are a very strong team. They have good serves and play a fast ball. But I’m convinced that we’re ready.
Despite a strong team, the Potsdam women are more of an outsider. MTV Stuttgart was too dominant throughout the season and won the decisive duels.
