BBS Burgdorf is working on a real innovation. Together with JA-Gastechnology from Burgwedel, a roadworthy cargo bike with hydrogen drive and the corresponding charging infrastructure is to be created.
Burgdorf/Burgwedel.Hydrogen, preferably produced green, is one of the hopes for climate protection and the energy transition. What drives buses and cars – that must also be perfectly suitable for cargo bikes. Cargo bikes tailored to the special needs of companies could be a real alternative, especially in times when, for example, in Hanover, car-free inner cities are becoming more and more important. “Sustainable mobility” is the name of this project that the Burgdorf vocational schools (BBS) are implementing together with the company JA-Gastechnology (JAG) from Kleinburgwedel.
And that is the goal: In the coming school year, an electric cargo bike of the type Radkutsche Musketier is to be converted to hydrogen drive so that it can ideally be ready for series production. The vehicle weighs 74 kilograms with drive, but without body.
