Chicago (USA), May 27 (EFE).- The American bank Wells Fargo and the Mexican soccer team announced this Friday the extension of their sponsorship agreement in the United States, which includes the launch of debit cards with the ‘Tri’ logo for US residents.
The extension of the sponsorship contract was announced in a statement by Soccer United Marketing (SUM), partner and representative of the Mexican Football Federation (FMF) for more than twenty years.
Wells Fargo will support the Mexican men’s and women’s teams on their tours of the United States, the so-called ‘MexTour’, and will promote a long series of parallel activities dedicated to the US Latino community.
One of the initiatives launched by the US bank is a new line of debit cards with the ‘Tri’ logo.
“We offer our customers the opportunity to show their passion for soccer through their debit card,” said Rebeca Vargas, Director of Diversity Marketing for Wells Fargo.
“We look forward to working with Wells Fargo in creating special moments for the Mexican national teams and fans in meaningful ways for many years to come,” he added.
The agreement was celebrated by the president of the FMF, Yon de Luisa, who assured that his organization is proud “to have Wells Fargo as a partner so committed to the development” of the Mexican national teams.
Mexico will open this Saturday in Arlington (Texas, USA) the nineteenth edition of its ‘MexTour’, with a friendly match against Nigeria.
Next, they will play against Uruguay in Glendale, Arizona, and Ecuador in Chicago, Illinois, where there is a Mexican community of more than a million inhabitants.
The tour also includes a meeting with Paraguay on August 31 in Atlanta (Georgia). EFE
