They paid 500,000 euros for lunch with Robert De Niro

Robert De Niro was the guest of honor at the 28th annual gala dinner of the amfAR AIDS Research Foundation, where one of the guests won an auction lunch with the legendary actor, the Associated Press reported.

More than 800 people took part in one of the most anticipated events at the Cannes Film Festival – the exquisite dinner, bidding and party in Antibes, where guests enjoyed performances by stars such as Christina Aguilera, Ricky Martin and Charlie EXC.

The evening began with a gleaming red carpet. He was followed by Tom Hanks, who starred in the movie “Elvis” with director Baz Luhrmann. The film caused a furor in Cannes. Among the guests were Kara Delevin, Casey Affleck, Cynthia Erivo, Diplo, Edgar Ramirez, Eva Longoria, Mila Jovovich, Vanessa Hudgens, Winnie Harlow.

Ricky Martin opened the gala evening with some of his hits as guests finished their dinner, and launched an auction in favor of funds to fund research against AIDS.

The bidding began with lunch with Robert De Niro, and at the end more than 500,000 euros were raised to support the foundation’s research. Lunch will take place at one of the actor’s restaurants in New York. The traded lot also includes a painting by the father of Hollywood star Robert De Niro Sr., a well-known abstract expressionist.

Another guest paid 1.2 million euros for an exclusive evening with tenor Andrea Bocelli and his family. After another candidate appeared, ready to pay the same amount, the family of the famous artist agreed to spend an evening with him. The lot was presented by a surprising performance by tenor’s son Matteo Bocelli. Winners of the auction will enjoy dinner and a private music party for twelve people in one of his homes – in Miami Beach or on the coast of Tuscany.

The gala evening also included the annual fashion show curated by Karin Reutfeld. After the models paraded among the tables of the guests, the entire collection of 40 outfits was sold at auction for 800,000 euros.

Other lots included diamond jewelery, exclusive luxury travel and original artwork, including a sculpture by Jeff Koons to reach the moon with an irreplaceable token, which sold for 2.1 million euros.

Aguilera was the last to take the stage at the end of the dinner with her hits “Dirrty” and “Beautiful”, and the guests danced on an impromptu dance floor between the tables.

The secular event raised $ 245 million for the foundation’s research.
