the director of Elden Ring and FromSoftware CEO Hidetaka Miyazaki has officially stated that his favorite boss in the game is Starscourge Radahn.
speaking to Xbox Wire Japan (and translated by the website IGN), Miyazaki was asked what his favorite boss is in Elden Ring and was also asked to explain himself about the infamous and terrifying enemy Spider Hand found at Caria Manor.
“It’s hard to decide,” Miyazaki said of the bosses, “but I’d have to say Radahn. As an individual character, he’s really attractive, and I really like the Radahn Festival situation. There is a literal sense of festivity and exuberance, but also a unique undertone of sadness and loneliness.”
His second favorite boss, Miyazaki added, is Godrick the Grafted or Rykard, Lord of Blasphemy, but one of his other favorite designs in the game is the Spider Hand, the giant 12-fingered hand that runs after players in Caria Manor.
“Spider Hand is one of my favorite designs,” said Miyazaki. “It’s something you don’t even want to look at because it’s so horrible. I wonder if the way to overcome your problem is to face it head on and beat it.”
