David Carmo was the spokesman for the first day of the National Team, which this Thursday kicks off the preparation for the four games of the League of Nations, the first of which against Spain, on June 2.
The SC Braga central defender is making his debut in Fernando Santos’ squad and admitted the realization of a dream.
«Like any Portuguese player, since I was a kid, I dreamed of being here. I’m very happy to be among the best in the country and proud of the path I’ve taken. My mentality is to look for more and more and my objective is to help the group to continue to conquer more things and titles and, above all, to represent Portugal in the best way», stressed the SC Braga player, who did not hide his ambition to debut quickly through the Selection.
“I will share this experience with players who are the best in the world, namely Pepe, who has been in football for many years and has achieved many things. But I’m here to fight for my place and help the team, whether it’s playing, whether on the bench or on the bench, I want them to feel they can count on me. My job is to do my best, we’ll have four games in 10 days and I’m sure the coach has a plan in place, we’re here to fulfill whatever is asked for”, he concluded.
