The investigation of the crime that shakes Tolima continues to yield results. In the last few hours, the body of Marco Tulio Molina was found on the banks of the Tetuán River, four kilometers below the scene of the events.
The social leader was the husband of Elizabeth Mendoza, also a leader and president of the Calarcá Tetuán board, who was also murdered along with her son and a nephew, when they were inside her home in this Chaparral village.
The terrible tragedy took place on the afternoon of Tuesday, May 24, when armed men entered the property and apparently cut the throats of three of the victims and decapitated one, before throwing two of the bodies into the river.
“It is a challenge that the National Police have set themselves, which is why today the departmental government is launching the offer of a reward of up to 50 million pesos for the person or persons who provide relevant, truthful and effective information to clarify this crime,” said the governor of Tolima, Ricardo Orozco Valero.
The Chaparral mayor’s office also announced that it will offer up to 30 million pesos for information that allows the capture of those responsible for the massacre in the village of Calarcá Tetuán, in the district of Calarma.
Mayor Hugo Fernando Arce, while regretting the incident, stated that around noon a security council began in his office with the presence of Police General Carlos Humberto Rojas, commander of Regional Two.
