(CNN Spanish) — The Minister of Health of Panama, Luis Francisco Sucre, announced this Tuesday that he gave instructions to declare a health alert in the country due to the monkey pox.
In a message shared on his social networks, Sucre explained that a series of health plans and protocols are established, but he did not reveal what they consist of.
Earlier, the Ministry of Health reported that two public hospitals in Panama City were inspected to adapt and enable isolation areas due to the epidemiological alert issued by the World Health Organization for monkeypox.
For now Panama has no record of suspected cases of monkeypox, according to a statement from the Ministry of Health.
