Lionel Messi scored 11 goals and 14 assists in 34 competitive games in his first season for Paris Saint-Germain. It took the exceptional talent a long time to get used to his new work environment. After all, it was enough for his first championship in the new country.
“It was a different year because so much happened but at the end of the day we won a league title which I was really looking forward to because it’s the first trophy here in Paris,” Messi wrote on his Instagram Profile with a small summary of his debut season to the public.
The “bitter aftertaste”, as the 34-year-old puts it, was the early exit from the Champions League. Already in the round of 16, after two games against Real Madrid, the premier class season for the ambitious noble club from Paris ended unexpectedly early.
