“In response to the British government’s decision in early March to include the full composition of the Federation Council in the sanctions list, personal restrictions are being placed on 154 members of the House of Lords in the British Parliament,” the statement said.
The House of Lords has a total of 774 members.
The ministry also indicated that it would continue to compile lists of sanctions that would be a proportionate response to Western personal sanctions.
Punishing Russia for its invasion of Ukraine, the West has imposed unprecedented economic sanctions on Russia, which are becoming more severe as Russia continues its war.
