State Attorney Hans Christian Wolters has previously stated several times that they are absolutely certain that they know who abducted and killed three-year-old Madeleine “Maddie” McCann in the Portuguese beach town of Praia da Luz in 2007.
Nevertheless, they have not brought charges against the suspected killer, German Christian Brückner.
For several years he has been in the police spotlight. Earlier this spring, he was officially given the status of a suspect.
Brückner denies that he had anything to do with the abduction, and claims that he has an alibi for the night Maddie disappeared.
Wolters’ slanted safety worries journalist and longtime police investigator Mark Williams-Thomas. He has produced a major documentary series about the disappearance that is being broadcast on television these days.
– It’s about time
There he has, among other things, spoken to a number of sources in the German, British and Portuguese police.
The British police have concerns about the German prosecutors continued media appearances & statements. Time for German prosecutor after 3 years of investigation & asserting that Christian B killed #MadeleineMccann to charge him or admit they juts don’t have the evidence.

The British police have concerns about the German public prosecutor’s ongoing media appearances and statements, Williams-Thomas wrote on Twitter before the weekend.
Now he thinks something must happen.
–
– It is time for the German public prosecutor, after three years of investigation and determination that Christian Brückner killed Madeleine McCann, to either prosecute him or admit that they do not have the necessary evidence.
British police do not comment on the allegation that they are concerned, but say Express that they continue to investigate the case in cooperation and with the Portuguese and German police authorities.
Williams-Thomas has also been in contact with a woman who Brückner claims gives him an alibi for the night Maddie disappeared.
Brückner claims in the documentary Williams-Thomas has produced, that he and the unnamed woman had sex in his motorhome, several kilometers away from the hotel, when Maddie disappeared.
Attorney General Wolters says that they have mobile data that places Brückner at the hotel in the relevant time period.
– I do not want to comment on the statements of Mr Williams-Thomas. “Since Mr. Williams-Thomas does not have access to the documents in the case, we are not surprised by his opinion,” Wolters told the newspaperDaily Star.
He also categorically denies that the woman in question gives Brückner an alibi.
– We have not found anyone who gives Christian Brückner an alibi. And the suspect has not claimed to us that he has an alibi, says Wolters.
Wolters have also previously stated that they are certain that McCann has been killed, even though the body has not been found.
