TRIBUNNEWS.COM, BRUSSELS – Belgium has become the first country to enforce the rules quarantine mandatory for 21 days for patients with monkeypox (Monkeypox).
This is because cases of the disease, which is usually endemic in Africa, have spread throughout the world.
The country’s health authorities also started introducing preventive measures last month, after the country reported its third case.

Quoted from the CNBC page, Monday (23/5/2022), until this Monday, Belgium has recorded four local cases, while the global confirmed cases of infection currently number around 100.
Keep in mind, action is mandatory Belgium this applies only to patients with confirmed cases of infection.
Meanwhile, those in close contact are not required to self-isolate, but are advised to remain vigilant, especially if they come into contact with vulnerable people.
“Infected people should undergo contact isolation until the wound heals, they will receive concrete instructions on this from the treating doctor,” said the government’s translated version of the announcement.

The UK, on the other hand, said those at high risk of contracting the disease should self-isolate for 21 days.
That includes household contacts or medical professionals who may have been in contact with infected patients.
