Lens coach Franck Haise has extended his contract with the Sang et Or until 2025, the artesian club announced on Monday, two days after finishing the 2021-22 Ligue 1 season in 7th place.

“This extension goes beyond a signature, it is the pursuit of a sporting and human adventure in which I flourish”, rejoiced Haise, quoted in the RC Lens press release.

The 51-year-old coach arrived at the club in 2017 to train the reserve team before becoming head coach from February 2020, first as a temporary worker after the dismissal of Philippe Montanier, then permanently after having raised the club to Ligue 1, for the first time since 2015, thanks to two successes just before the Covid-19 pandemic.

Under his command, Lens finished 7th in L1 with 57 points in 2020-2021 before repeating this performance this season with a total of 62 points, failing to four points behind Europe, while the club has the fifteenth budget in the championship. . Haise has developed an offensive-oriented game since the beginning of his term, allowing certain players to hatch at the highest level like Jonathan Clauss, called up for the France team.
