In the coming season, not only VfB Stuttgart will take part in the DFB Cup. For the first time since 2015, the Stuttgarter Kickers are also there. Here you can find all the information about the draw for the first main round.

Big celebrations at the Stuttgarter Kickers: After the dramatic victory in the final of the WFV Cup against SSV Ulm 1846 football, it is clear that the Blues will play in the first main round of the DFB Cup next season.

The draw for the DFB Cup will take place in May. At this point we summarize everything you need to know about the competition in the 2022/23 season.
Which clubs qualify?
Bundesliga: 1. FC Cologne, 1. FSV Mainz 05, 1. FC Union Berlin, Bayer Leverkusen, Borussia Dortmund, Borussia Mönchengladbach, Eintracht Frankfurt, FC Augsburg, FC Bayern Munich, FC Schalke 04, RB Leipzig, SC Freiburg, TSG Hoffenheim, VfB Stuttgart, VfL Bochum, VfL Wolfsburg, Werder Bremen; plus the relegation winner (Hertha BSC or Hamburger SV).
2. Liga: 1st FC Heidenheim, 1st FC Magdeburg, 1st FC Nuremberg, Arminia Bielefeld, Eintracht Braunschweig, FC St. Pauli, Fortuna Düsseldorf, Hanover 96, Hansa Rostock, Holstein Kiel, Karlsruher SC, SC Paderborn, Jahn Regensburg, SpVgg Greuther Fürth , SV Darmstadt 98, SV Sandhausen; plus the relegation loser (Hertha BSC or Hamburger SV) and the relegation winner (Dynamo Dresden or 1. FC Kaiserslautern).
3. Liga: TSV 1860 Munich, Erzgebirge Aue, FC Ingolstadt, SpVgg Bayreuth (as champions of the Bavarian regional league); plus the relegation losers (Dynamo Dresden or 1. FC Kaiserslautern) as well as Waldhof Mannheim (as the Baden state cup winner), SV Elversberg (as the Saarland state cup winner) and Viktoria Köln (as the Mittelrhein state cup winner).

18/19 October 2022: 2nd round

2nd/3rd May 2023: Semifinals
June 3, 2023: Final in Berlin
When will the first main round be drawn?
As part of the ARD sports show on Sunday 29 May 2022 from 7.15 p.m. onwards. DFB President Bernd Neuendorf and ex-VfB professional Kevin Großkreutz act as raffle fairies in the German Football Museum in Dortmund.
Who will broadcast the 2022/23 DFB Cup?
The pay TV broadcaster Sky shows all 63 games live. 15 games will be broadcast live on free TV (ARD and ZDF) – including the two semi-finals and the final in Berlin.
