Saudi Arabia prohibits its citizens from traveling to 16 countries including Indonesia. This is related to cases of COVID-19 in these countries.
So said the Directorate General of Passports (Jawazat) Saudi Arabia. Apart from Indonesia, citizens of Saudi Arabia are prohibited from going to Lebanon, Syria, Turkey, Iran, Afghanistan, India, Yemen, Somalia, Ethiopia, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Libya, Vietnam, Armenia, Belarus, and Venezuela.
“Citizens of Saudi Arabia are prohibited from traveling to 16 countries due to COVID-19 cases in these countries,” Jawazat said as quoted from Saudi GazetteMonday (23/5/2022).
In addition, Jawazat also announced new rules regarding the validity period of passports for citizens of King Salman who wish to travel to both Arab and non-Arab countries. Where, the validity period of the passport must be more than three months to Arab countries and must be more than six months to non-Arab countries.
The same is true for nationals traveling to Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries. The validity period of the identity must also be more than three months.
Regarding citizen requirements Saudi Arabia traveling outside the kingdom, must have received three doses of the COVID-19 vaccine or not past three months after the second dose injection. Children under 16 and 12 years of age are also required to receive two doses of the vaccine.
“There will be exceptions for groups that have been granted exemptions for medical reasons according to the status on the Tawakkalna application,” he said.
“As for those under the age of 12, they are required to carry an insurance policy against the COVID-19 virus when traveling outside the kingdom,” he added.
