In Sunny Beach they are rubbing their hands with satisfaction! After 2 years. pause back …

Charters with British tourists of the big tour operator Balkan Holidays UK left for the Bulgarian Black Sea coast after a two-year break due to the pandemic. Yesterday landed the first flight at Bourgas Airport, which was carried out by the European Air Charter, the airport announced.

He was greeted with a water arch and gifts for the first tourists.

Alexander Stoyanov, executive director of Balkan Holidays UK, told TravelNews that flights from 16 airports in the UK are planned, including London Gatwick, Belfast, Manchester, Newcastle, Cardiff, Edinburgh, Norwich, Bristol, Liverpool, Glasgow and others.

“This season our charters will be only to Burgas, for which the region is most in demand. “Most Britons are heading to Sunny Beach, which is their favorite resort,” Stoyanov said.

According to him, the interest in the region of Varna is low and the complexes in the north are not selling well. However, they offer programs with transfers from Bourgas Airport to the resorts of Golden Sands, Albena and St. St. Constantine and Helena.

In early May, they resumed their programs to Bulgaria and other British tour operators – Jet2Holidays and TUI UK.

Great Britain is one of the most important markets for Bulgarian tourism. In 2019, more than 470,000 Britons arrived, which ranks 7th in the number of foreign tourists in our country. By comparison, Russia ranks eighth with 450,000 tourists. In the forefront are Romania, Greece, Germany, Northern Macedonia and Ukraine.

British tourists saved last winter after returning to Bulgaria. Ski resorts even grew compared to 2019, before the pandemic. Bansko reported 25% more tourists, Pamporovo with 30% and Borovets with about 7%.
