After two years of suspension due to Covid-19, in-flight passenger service will be gradually resumed on all domestic flights in Brazil from Sunday (22). Airlines “Azul”, “Gol” and “Latam” serve snacks and soft drinks at will, without additional charge. In a statement, Azul announced that it will resume service from Sunday (22nd). “Gol” will offer the offer gradually. For the company’s customers, items are first distributed on flights departing from São Paulo’s Congonhas (CGH) and Guarulhos (GRU) airports. On June 1st it will be expanded to include flights departing from Rio de Janeiro (GIG/SDU), so that from June 16th it will cover 100 percent of flights in Brazil. In the case of Latam, the service will be available to passengers from June 1st.

The resumption will be possible after the decision of the National Health Surveillance Authority (Anvisa) during a meeting. According to the authorities’ findings, the resumption of on-board service is permitted, removing the mask only for eating/drinking. Wearing masks on planes and in airport restricted areas is still mandatory, as are deplaning procedures for deplaning and cleaning and disinfecting environments and surfaces. Whenever possible, physical separation is still recommended.
