These 2 phones will be the first to use the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – Didn’t wait long since the announcement Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 which offers a number of performance and energy efficiency improvements, Asus announced that its ROG Phone 6 will later be the first gaming phone with Qualcomm’s flagship chipset at the back of its mind. In total there are 16 companies that have immediately confirmed the same, will launch a new smartphone with the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset.

Get ready! The 1st gaming phone with Qualcomm® Snapdragon® 8+ Gen 1 is coming SOON,” reads the ROG Global announcement on the Twitter account @ROG_ASUS on Friday night, May 20, 2022, Indonesian time.

This is different from what was revealed by the founder and CEO of Realme, Sky Li. He announced that the Realme GT 2 Master Explorer Edition will be the first smartphone powered by Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 to arrive on the market. “A perfect match!” said Sky Li on Twitter account @skyli_realme, also Friday night.

The plan is that the first market is China. It is not yet clear whether the Realme GT 2 Master Explorer Edition will make it to the global market because Realme GT Master Edition last year with Snapdragon 870 chipset exclusive only in China.

Qualcomm released a revamped version of the flagship chipset on Friday. Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 (SM8475) promises to provide 10 percent higher speed improvements and significant energy savings of up to 30 percent. Its predecessor, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, was never really slow. Only the matter of heat and battery usage are often the problem.
