Animo to compensate small saver anyway

Amsterdam – For the treasury, the Supreme Court’s ruling on the savings tax is a windfall. The Ministry of Finance had already calculated what the costs would be if everyone were to get their overpaid tax back, the outcome of that sum approached 12 billion euros. Thanks to the scope offered by the Supreme Court, State Secretary Van Rij (Finance) can limit the financial damage more. But in The Hague, there is still enthusiasm for small savers to be compensated.
