Personally, I think that Rutte’s SMS problem is not a storm in a teacup. It is a very strong example of what goes wrong in politics.

Ministers who openly lie and cheat.

The chair legs of Dutch democracy have been sawed for years. An increasing part of the population is distrusting the government, which IMO is justifiable. We cannot blame the large group of wappies and rioting idiots, because it is increasingly difficult to have faith in our democracy, in our government.

It is a breakdown of our society and the democratic norms and values ​​that we as the Netherlands stand for. Without openness and a population that the government can control, our democracy is in very poor shape. The Netherlands is not a BV that has nothing to account for to its nationals. Mark and the rest of the politicians and officials are there in the service of the people. Not the other way around.

Not a storm in a glass of water, it is an extremely important subject.
