According to the organizers of “Delfi”, the concert show together with violinist Darya Smirnov and Liepaja Chamber Orchestra musicians Šimkus will perform the cycles “Seasons” by Pēteris Vasks and Antonio Vivaldi, which will be complemented by an impressive light and video show created by Latvia’s leading artists.

One of my biggest moments of this year’s performance in Latvia will be the participation in the multimedia concert show” Seasons “. cycle “Seasons”, composed by the genius and world – renowned contemporary Latvian composer Pēteris Vasks. The composer has instilled the mood of the Latvian seasons in a composition that stimulates the imagination and emotionally addresses, which will be especially highlighted in this concert by the creative work of the outstanding lighting artist Mārtiņš Feldmanis, “comments Vestards Šimkus.

The piano cycle “Seasons”, created by Peter Vasks for almost 30 years, began in 1980 with “White Landscape” – a meditation created by the minimalists of the Baltic composers of that time, where only a few sounds were used. In 1981, the composer created a much more extensive, dramatically active composition “Autumn Piano Music”, while in 1995 it was followed by the natural sound scene “Spring Piano Music”, and the work entitled “Summer” was written by Vasks in 2009.

Šimkus ‘piano performance in the concert will be complemented by an ambitious light show created especially for this event by Mārtiņš Feldmanis – a two-time winner of the Latvian Theater “Players’ Night” award in the category to build according to their associations about Pēteris Vasks – both restrainedly ascetic, warmly sincere, lightly sad and full of reflection. From the cool white winter to the greenish mist of spring leaves, the heat of summer, the variety of autumn and the cool sadness of winter again, “Feldmanis shares his thoughts.

In the second part of the concert, listeners will hear Antonio Vivaldi’s famous cycle of four violin concerts “Seasons”, which is one of the most popular opuses of classical music in the world. The composition will be performed by the brilliant violinist of the Latvian National Symphony Orchestra Darja Smirnova and the Liepāja Chamber Orchestra, but video artists – Artis Dzērve, Minus Eight (Andris Vētra), Ineta Sipunova and Vikijs (Viktors Keino) will take care of the three-dimensional journey through the seasons. They are each preparing a special video performance for their season, which will create a multimedia concert show in Latvia in interaction with the famous music.

The concert show “Seasons” will take place on July 1 at 7 pm in the Great Hall of the Liepaja Concert Hall “Big Amber”. Tickets can be purchased at “Ticket Paradise” box offices and on the Internet.
