“On May 13, 2022, there were 2,812 cows infected with FMD. Until May 18, 2022, the number of infected cattle reached 4,702,” said Head of the Aceh Tamiang Distanbunak, Safuan, as quoted by Antara, Thursday (19/5/2022).
He said that the number of cattle deaths due to PMK since the last week has remained at 13. While the cows that recovered were 1,109 and forcibly slaughtered two. Only three buffaloes were confirmed positive for PMK.
“A total of more than 4,000 cattle population infected with PMK are spread over 10 sub-districts, while the two sub-districts that have zero reports of FMD cases are Sekerak and Tamiang Hulu,” he said.

So far, his party has tried to reduce the number of livestock PMK transmission so that it does not continue to increase by providing medicines to the community/breeders through the task force posts.
“We have established four command posts in Karang Baru, Seruway, Tamiang Hulu and Bandar Pusaka sub-districts. One post is to cover three sub-districts,” he said.
