Jakarta –
The government will start implementing technology toll road fee payment the new one, namely the Multi Lane Free Flow (MLFF) system. By using this technology, road users can pass through toll gates without having to stop to tap e-money. So later Pay tolls no longer using a card.
“Starting at the end of this year, we will introduce contactless transactions using onboard unit technology that is connected to a satellite so that people can directly pass through the toll gate without having to stop for tapping e-money,” said Head of the Toll Road Regulatory Agency (BPJT) Danang Parikesit on Thursday. last March.
The application of transaction time at toll gates has decreased to only 0 seconds from the previous toll gate transaction activities with electronic money which took up to about 4 seconds.
With the implementation of this system toll payment no longer need to stop and vehicles can continue to run as usual, so there are no more queues at toll gates and shorten travel time and efficiency. The main thing is pay tolls without a card could be faster.
The MLFF system itself uses the Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) technology and performs transactions through a special application toll road on smartphones. Next, GPS will determine the location determined by the satellite and the map-matching process will run in the central system.
When the vehicle exits the toll road and the map-matching process ends, the system will calculate the fare.
The use of the Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) is widely applied in Eastern European countries including Hungary. Another benefit of the presence of the MLFF transaction system is that one of them is efficiency in operating costs and also minimizes vehicle fuel.
For information, previously BPJT also targeted the MLFF Touchless Non-Cash transaction system to be implemented in Java and Bali by the end of 2022. Later, after this technology is implemented, payments will be made using E-Toll card will not be used again.
