Nikkie de Jager, who presented the Eurovision Song Contest in Rotterdam in 2021, is not exactly pleased with the latest edition of the event. She tells this in an interview with the AD.
De Jager reports via TikTok about the Cannes Film Festival, which started on Tuesday. To the AD she says that this way she gains more experience, because this way of presenting is less strict than at the Eurovision Song Contest.
When asked what she thought of the recent edition in Turin, she first tries to remain polite. “My mom always says if you don’t have anything nice to say, you better shut up.” But then more explanation follows.
“I thought it was cringe-inducing,” says De Jager, who presented the Eurovision show in 2021 together with Jan Smit, Chantal Janzen and Edsilia Rombley. “It only made me appreciate more how well we had everything in order last year. The chemistry between us was also much stronger. Sorry, I really seem like such a vinegary ass now. But I didn’t think it was all that good.”
Presentation trio has already been criticized for the final
The Turin Eurovision Song Contest was presented by Alessandro Cattelan, Laura Pausini and Mika. In the run-up to the final, the trio already faced criticism. For example, the rehearsals would have been more messy than in Rotterdam.
