It is one of the places where you reconnect with nature, while being close to the city. The campsite of Chartres (Eure-et-Loir) is undergoing a transformation and tourists are asking for more!
Already a lot of people at the campsite
Just take a walk in ce camping « nature » to see that travelers are indeed back in the capital of Eure-et-Loir, and in large numbers! “Monday, we made 49 entries and Tuesday 52, or 139 people on the second day”, rejoices the Perny couple, manager of the campsite.
In this clientele, we mainly record camper vansbut also cyclists, there are “between 60 and 70% foreigners”, notes Philippe Rossat, general manager of the Tourist Office of Chartres metropolis.
The site is certified by a large Dutch tour operator, which earned it to attract the Benelux population. English and American tourists, classes and cycle tourists who take the road to Veloscenia also seem to enjoy themselves in this corner of greenery.
The fine weather contributes to the arrival of French travellers, who generally call an hour or two before coming to settle there or who prefer to go directly through the online booking platform.
More comfort for motorhomes
The development of pitches and ground stabilization for motorhomes is certainly not for nothing and word of mouth should have its little effect for the rest of the season.
The investments made since last year for the Chartres campsite are bearing fruit and the warm welcome new managers is so appreciable in the eyes of tourists, who finally find the pleasure of traveling without health restrictions!
