Mandatory solar panels on new public buildings: this is how Europe wants to get rid of Russian gas

Solar panels on all roofs: our country has been asking for it for some time. At the beginning of May, Federal Energy Minister Tinne Van der Straeten (Green) argued in favor of making solar roofs mandatory, “especially on flat roofs, public buildings, supermarkets and large retail spaces, and in industrial areas”. She did so in a letter to Timmermans and EU Energy Commissioner Kadri Simson, which was co-signed by Austria, Ireland, Lithuania, Luxembourg and Spain.
