Within the framework of the suspension of classes for Teacher’s Day, the Baja California Ministry of Health will enable mass vaccination points against Covid-19 for the population of 12 and 13 years of age this Monday, May 16.
In Tijuana, the event will be held at the Institute for Sustainable Mobility (Imos), located on the Tijuana-Tecate free highway, from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and will be pedestrianized.
The Health unit indicated that they do not have a dose goal to be applied for today, but with this measure it is expected to vaccinate around 120,000 adolescents in that age range.
In previous days, the Secretary of Health, José Adrián Medina Amarillas, mentioned that approximately 40% of adolescents already have the vaccine because they came to the United States to receive it.
Therefore, there is an approximate population of 72,000 minors who have not received the biological.

At the moment, these points will only be enabled for one day, the Health unit reported that attendance during the day will be valued and later it will be decided if they will continue for the rest of the week.
Minors must be accompanied by their parents or a guardian, carry identification and their registration form on the national platform of mivacuna.salud.gob.mx.
Through a statement they reported that the Astrazeneca vaccine will also be available for the population 18 years of age and older and vaccination schedules can be completed in adolescents from 13 to 17 years of age.
The vaccination brigades will continue to gradually attend the state’s high schools, once classes resume.
The Ministry of Health has not given a preliminary report of doses applied to minors, due to the low influx they had in the first week.
The vaccination points in the rest of the state will be pedestrianized and are:
Mexicali: Palenque of the FEX; Ensenada: UABC Valle Dorado Gymnasium; Tecate: Tecate Health Center; Rosarito: Gral. #7 Secondary School, Emiliano Zapata and Vicente Guerrero: De la Cali multipurpose gym.
