In Indonesia alone, the Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) until some time ago recorded 15 cases suspected of being related to acute hepatitis. Some of them caused the patient to die.
So far, acute hepatitis attacks the group of children aged 1-17 years. Although not yet known for sure, but the cause is thought to be due to the child’s immune system is not yet fully formed.
Nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea are the most common symptoms of acute hepatitis detected in Indonesia. Some children also experience fever, decreased appetite, and pain on their own.

In addition to the general symptoms above, some patients have also reported experiencing yellowing of the eyes and skin. This condition is often referred to as jaundice or syndrome jaundice.
Spokesperson for the Ministry of Health Siti Nadia Tarmizi said some time ago that yellow skin conditions had been reported in three pediatric patients who died from acute hepatitis.
The yellowing of the eyes and skin occurs due to inflammation of the liver. This condition increases the pigment bilirubin in the blood to trigger a buildup. This condition is called jaundice.

In hepatitis patients, the condition of the eyes and yellow skin can last for a matter of weeks. Parents need to be aware of the symptoms of acute hepatitis on this one. Immediately take to the hospital if the symptoms of vomiting and diarrhea are accompanied by jaundice.
In addition to making the eyes and skin yellow, high levels of bilirubin also make urine turn darker and more concentrated.
However, not only hepatitis, yellowing of the eyes and skin is also caused by other medical factors. For example, thalassemia, pancreatic cancer, gallstones, cirrhosis, to bile duct obstruction.
