Deputy Minister of State-Owned Enterprises I Pahala N Mansury reviewed the availability of stocks and prices of cooking oil at the traditional market, Pasar Rebo, East Jakarta. The market became one of the sampling locations, a pilot project program for distributing bulk cooking oil at a price of Rp. 14,000 per liter, which was carried out by the BUMN Food Holding ID FOOD Group.
“The pilot project target for the distribution of bulk cooking oil at a price of Rp. 14,000 per liter will be distributed to 5,000 location points, which are spread throughout Indonesia, the synergy between BUMN and the Ministry of Trade is related to the private sector,” said Wamen Pahala in his statement, quoted on Sunday (15/5/2022). ).
Pahala said that the pilot project for the distribution of cooking oil is targeted to be implemented starting Saturday (14/5/2022), first at the location points of DKI Jakarta and its surroundings. By the end of May 2022, it is targeted to be distributed to 5,000 other traditional market locations. Such as markets in North Sumatra, West Sumatra, Riau, Bengkulu, Lampung, Banten, West Java, Central Java, East Java, Yogyakarta, Bali, NTB, Kalimantan and Sulawesi.
The distribution will be carried out together with its subsidiaries in the trading sector, namely PT Indonesia Trading Company and Rajawali Nusindo. According to him, food SOEs have the potential to develop the market by cooperating with small entrepreneurs and retailers in distributing cooking oil so that people’s needs are met.
“Not only traders and large-scale entrepreneurs, retailers or stalls, even small micro-enterprises, can be BUMN partners in the distribution of cooking oil. So, from the role of cooking oil retailers, which stands for food SOEs in providing cooking oil supplies,” he said while surveying the market.
Pahala also hopes that BUMN Food can also expand the market door to door, to the sub-district, RT and RW levels to record the population of housewives who definitely need cooking oil for their daily needs. So, people don’t need to panic buying in buying cooking oil.
In addition, the ID FOOD Group Food SOE is also expected to be able to prepare a special platform application for the development of the Warung Pangan application it manages. This is done to ensure the distribution of cooking oil online, as well as monitoring the affordability of cooking oil prices of Rp. 14 thousand per liter to the consumer or community level.
He admitted that the current issue of cooking oil is not only a supply shortage, but also efforts to stabilize cooking oil prices according to government regulations. Given, there are still many retailers and small stalls that still sell above HET.
