At the beginning of the morning, this Sunday, a man of Ivorian nationality was arrested on avenue de la 1e armee for intentional violence and threats with a weapon. He was taken to the Draguignan police station for his placement in police custody, with deferred rights due to his mental state. “During his change of cell, he attacked a police officer and managed to escape”says a source familiar with the matter.
Pursued by the police, he jumped over the police station fence towards Chabran Park, where he was arrested again. “Immediately, he rebelled and kicked the administrative vehicle, then tried to bite and hit the police.” The individual was taken care of by an SMUR doctor and firefighters. He was transported to the Draguignan hospital center to be examined, “after having had to inject a sedative”. A psychiatric examination was requested. One of the police officers was slightly injured during the arrest and during the transport of the individual.
