A vote in the US Senate on a new $40 billion aid package to Ukraine will take place on Monday, May 16. The final document is scheduled to be approved on Wednesday, May 18.

“It’s important to point out to our colleagues and the American people that this is in our interest. This is not charity,” the senator said, answering a question about Republicans who have expressed concern about increased spending on support for Ukraine.
McConnell added that aid to Ukraine is not an advertising campaign. According to him, we are talking about a “ruthless cutthroat” who began a campaign in Europe.
