Ignacy Gogolewski performed at the Polish, Dramatic, Contemporary and National Theater in Warsaw. He managed the Stanisław Wyspiański Silesian Theater in Katowice, the Juliusz Osterwa Theater in Lublin and the Rozmaitości Theater in Warsaw.

Ignacy Gogolewski could pride himself on enormous acting achievements. He first attracted attention with the role of Gustaw-Konrad in the first post-WWII “Forefathers”, staged by Aleksander Bardini. Critics wrote then that “he flashed with outstanding talent and mastery of the technique”, “he charmed the audience with his personality and beautifully presented poem”.

The young actor was considered a continuator of the tradition of romantic theater and for many years he was regarded as such. He has played, among others, the roles of Konrad, Kordian, Fantazy.

“If I continued the same type of roles, I would probably get bored with both the critics and the audience. But when the opportunity arises, I am happy to use crop rotation” – assured Gogolewski in one of the interviews.
