Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has accused the European Union of sacrificing the interests of its citizens to please the United States.
According to Sergei Lavrov, the West, and especially the United States, is using Ukraine to maintain its dominant position on the world political stage:
“Ukraine is an instrument for deterring the peaceful development of the Russian Federation in the context of the course towards perpetuating the unipolar order.”
According to Lavrov, the United States is directing processes across the ocean and weakening Europe by liberating its markets for American goods, technology and military products.
“The European Union is finally losing its signs of independence and is obediently adhering to the Anglo-Saxon plans to promote a unipolar world order, sacrificing the quality of life of Europeans and their fundamental interests to the benefit of the United States.”
According to Lavrov, the European Union is increasingly merging with NATO on security issues, and the Alliance, for its part, is increasingly declaring its global ambitions, BNR reports.
