Total lunar eclipse (GBT) or what is often called Super Blood Moon will happen this year. And it is estimated that it will happen in a few days, namely on 15-16 May 2022, which also coincides with Vesak Day. However, this time, the people of Indonesia cannot witness this phenomenon because it will occur in the morning in Indonesia. Some areas that can observe GBT are throughout South America, North America, most of Africa except the easternmost part, and Central and Western Europe.

Eclipse moon This occurs due to the moon moving through the deep umbral shadow in the sky Earth at full moon. Following the previous report, Astronomer Bosscha Agus Triono explained that the occurrence of total lunar eclipse when part of the earth’s shadow covers the moon. An event in which the light from the Sun is blocked by the Earth so that light does not shine on the Moon.

Please note that the first total lunar eclipse will occur in 2022, some of the same phenomena previously occurred in 2021.

Total Lunar Eclipse or Super Blood Moon previously occurred on May 26, 2021 which can be witnessed in the territory of Indonesia. The peak of the eclipse occurred at 18.18 WIB, 19.18 WITA, and 20.18 WIT. The phenomenon at that time was quite unique because when the eclipse occurred the position of the moon was in the closest position to the Earth. Therefore, the public can immediately see this phenomenon during the eclipse.

In addition, in 2022 there has also been a partial lunar eclipse phenomenon. On April 30, 2022, it occurred in parts of South America, Antarctica, and the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans. This eclipse is the first lunar eclipse phenomenon that will occur in 2022.
