The doses intended for young people from 12 to 17 years of age in the Tula region were sold out earlier than expected, due to the good response, but also due to the assistance of laggards from other age ranges.
From an early hour the minors, accompanied by one of their parents or a guardian, went to the different designated offices in the area in order to receive their first dose of the biological Pfizer-BioNTech, after the country’s health authorities endorsed this inoculation phase.
The response among the inhabitants was good because a significant number of people within this age range went to the sites designated for each municipality, and in the case of Tula it was the multipurpose room of Cruz Azul and the Sports Unit; while in Tepeji del Río it was the Social Security hospital, the IMSS clinic in Santiago Tlautla and the municipal auditorium.
In points such as the Tula Sports Unit, the vaccines destined for this Friday were sold out without the demand being covered, because in addition to people between 12 and 17 years of age there were people of other age ranges who had lags in their vaccines and came to apply it.
However, they did not deny doses to people in other age ranges, but it caused doses to run low at this point; In some other vaccination points in the region, the demand was also high, although lower compared to Tula, and in view of this, they were provided with more doses to cover those required.
Given this, the organizers asked people over 18 years of age who have not applied their vaccine, to go to permanent centers to avoid a lack of vaccines for young people.
This week doses were applied to minors between the ages of 12 and 17 in the municipalities of Atitalaquia, Atotonilco de Tula, Tepeji del Río, Tepetitlán, Tetepango, Tezontepec de Aldama, Tlahuelilpan, Tlaxcoapan and Tula de Allende.
