Jakarta –
The Kalimantan Institute of Technology (ITK) apologized for the upload of ITK Chancellor Prof. Budi Santosa Purwokartiko which caused controversy because it was considered racist when interviewing prospective LPDP scholarship recipients.
The community action started with Prof Budi’s upload which was considered racist. Budi uploaded a story about his experience interviewing prospective LPDP scholarship recipients on his personal Facebook, then the upload went viral on Facebook and Twitter.
The following is the content of Budi’s upload which is considered disturbing to the public:
I had the opportunity to interview several students who participated in student mobility abroad. The Higher Education program funded by LPDP received a lot of attention from students. They are intelligent children who have extraordinary abilities, if plotted in a normal distribution, they may belong to the right-hand side of 2.5% of the student population.
None of them I get this hobby demo there are students with extraordinarily high IP above 3.5 even some 3.8 and 3.9. Their English is cas cis cus with an IELTS score of 8, 8.5 and even 9. Duolingo can reach 140, 145 and some even 150 (though the minimum requirement is 100), which is amazing. They are also active in student organizations (professional), social and laboratory assistants or teaching assistants.
They talk about down to earth things: what are their goals, interests, efforts to support their ideals, what are their contributions to society and their nation, nationalism and so on. Not talking about heaven or life after death. The choice of words is also far from heaven’s words: insaallah, barakallah, syiar, qadarullah, and so on. This generation is a demographic bonus that will fill positions in state-owned enterprises, government institutions, the world of education, the private sector in the next few years.
And it so happened that of the 16 that I had to interview, there were only 2 boys and the rest were girls. Of the 14, 2 were absent, so the 12 female students I interviewed, none of them covered their heads like desert humans. Their brains are really open-minded, they seek God in developed countries such as Korea, western Europe and the US, not in countries where people are good at telling stories without technology.
I just hope they don’t fall into the same environment
– Make easy things difficult
– Work from one meeting to the next without a decision
– Concerns the skin over the contents
– Worship God but forget about man
– Receive a salary from the state but destroy the country
– Want to quickly go to heaven but sick, still look for a doctor and take medicine
– Using sky KPIs while the business is still alive in the world
Hope it’s not polluted
